DR. STEPHEN BUYS
LEAD PASTOR
Dr. Stephen Buys has served in full-time ministry since 2012 and is committed to building healthy, united churches rooted in Scripture and actively engaged in their communities.
After serving in multiple leadership roles at Lake Hills Church, he helped launch The Orchard Church in 2020 with a vision to cultivate Gospel-centered discipleship and a passion to see lives transformed in the community, region, nation, and around the world.
Pastor Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Liberty University and previously earned degrees in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from Mississippi College and Auburn University. Fluent in Spanish, he worked as an interpreter, translator, and in higher education before entering pastoral ministry.
He regularly speaks at churches and leadership gatherings and consults with ministry teams on vision, culture, and organizational health. Stephen is also the author of The Doorway of Prayer, which encourages believers to pursue an abundant, transformative, and hope-filled life of prayer.
Pastor Stephen and his wife, Anna, have been married since 2011 and are the parents of two sons, Silas and Benaiah.
